I managed to get Project M[SM] deployed to heroku, very cool, so far, when it works or when I get it right. Definitely tempting to say “deploy everything to heroku and be done with it”, we’ll see how this project goes, and maybe another.
Finishing up for a client tomorrow, 5 months earlier than expected, so I know a couple kick ass rails devs that have some immediate availability if you have a project. Get in touch if you do.
Interesting tidbits from around the web
- 50 Mac Apps with well designed & sexy interfaces – mmmm, shiny. Lot of regular apps for me showed up in the list. I do love Postbox but I get too many beachballs of death for it to stay around long. My first impressions of Midnight Inbox are WOW.
- 10 Passive Marketing Opportunities for Freelancers – Mostly focused on designers but good to think about things from this perspective (passive marketing, ROI, etc) occasionally.
- America’s Best Place to Raise Your Kids – Didn’t include anything in the DC Metro Area.
- Deploying Spree Using Heroku – is a really thorough guide on getting most any app that uses compass deployed on heroku. This and removing a cache directive from my stylesheet_link_tag solved my problems.
- Coding Clean and Semantic Templates – Nice reminder that wrapping everything in div tags isn’t always the best idea.
